Denise has more than 20 years of experience in media pitching and engagement marketing. Prior to joining the Purpose Brand team in 2018, she was PR director for Danielle Ashley Group, a position that earned her a Silver Anvil Award for her work on the First Ladies Health Initiative.
She also provided public relations and promotional services for Equity Office Properties, a real estate investment trust owning more than 750 commercial real estate holdings across the United States. Denise also worked five years as a public relations executive for Burrell Communications Group servicing the Quaker Oats account, prior to a two-year stint at E. Morris Communications, primarily providing multi-tiered marketing support for Oldsmobile. Her agency experience also includes conceptualizing and executing public relations and overall marketing campaigns for ComEd,, HBO Television, Illinois Lottery, McDonald’s Corp., Procter & Gamble, and Western Union.
Denise began her career in public relations at Johnson Publishing Co., where she publicized Ebony, EM, Jet, Fashion Fair Cosmetics, Supreme Beauty Products and the 100-city traveling Ebony Fashion Fair show. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Master of Fine Arts in communications from the University of New Orleans.
