Brand strategist Roger Weller is a codebreaker, adept at distilling complex subject matter into simple ideas and building simple ideas into powerful human stories.
Roger began his branding and marketing career in Chicago at Cramer-Krasselt, first as a writer and eventually as a VP and group creative director. There he worked on brands such as Bosch, Citibank, Hyatt, Moen and Southwest Airlines. In a natural progression into brand strategy, he went on to senior executive positions as brand and creative strategist at several Chicago global branding firms such as Edelman—where he conducted a global tracking study on social purpose and brand value—as well as Digitas, Landor and Starcom.
In these roles, he grew brand reputations for Dickies, JennAir, SC Johnson, KitchenAid, Microsoft, Quaker and Whirlpool. Roger has a deep and long-held passion for building brands that are socially mindful and purpose driven, which led to his joining forces with Purpose Brand.
Roger studied political science and journalism at UCLA and Cal State Northridge while waiting tables at groundbreaking Los Angeles restaurants. Beyond opening his mind to the world of inventive cuisine, being in the trenches with a restaurant staff under pressure was a master class in human behavior and professionalism.
Outside of work (and on exceptionally good days at work) Roger loves nothing more than spending time with his dogs or going down rabbit holes after seemingly disconnected things in search of the interconnectedness of everything.
