When almost 70 million Americans — nearly one in three adults — have a criminal record, it is important to remove unnecessary barriers that may prevent these individuals from gaining access to employment, training, education and other basic tools required for success in life.”

We are committed to providing individuals with criminal records, including formerly incarcerated individuals, a fair chance to participate in the American economy.

As a purpose-driven company, we understand the importance of second chances. The Fair Chance Pledge calls on businesses and higher education institutions to invest in their communities and eliminate unnecessary hiring barriers for individuals with criminal records. Purpose Brand has proudly joined this pledge.

The fact is, more than 70 million Americans––almost a quarter of the national population––have criminal records. These records can become permanent black marks, often inhibiting people from participating fully in our society, including the job market. Today, millions of Americans are unemployed because of their criminal records, even after having served their sentences and made amends in the eyes of the law; so many capable people being shut out of the professional world has a negative impact, not only on the individuals themselves, but the economy as a whole.

We are a nation of second chances and so is our agency.

We give a fair chance to all applicants. We ensure that information regarding an applicant’s criminal record is considered in the proper context. We engage in hiring practices that do not automatically disqualify those with criminal records. For those who are hired, we provide resources to set them up for success.
