Black Directors Health Equity Agenda

Meeting the Moment for a Robust Public Health Regimen

Board directors and executive leaders across the healthcare ecosystem collaborate through the Black Directors Health Equity Agenda to eradicate health disparities facing Black communities. BDHEA’s members foster development of up-and-coming corporate and nonprofit leaders, spur innovative business models and support policy reforms that advance health equity for Black Americans, ultimately ensuring fair and equal healthcare for all.

The Challenge

As BDHEA formally organized in 2021, Black board directors, healthcare leaders and philanthropists needed a strategic awareness campaign that ignited corporate and influencer engagement around access, care, treatment and outcomes.

The Solution

Purpose Brand led a brand awareness campaign that ignited corporate and influencer engagement in BDHEA’s health equity initiatives for Black Americans. The Purpose Brand team engaged leading healthcare influencers and directors of corporate boards to announce significant key initiatives in corporations, on historically Black college and university (HBCU) campuses and with major influencers to drive change. Three such initiatives were the Board Director’s Health Equity Playbook, Health Equity’s Essential Role in ESG Conversations and the Propel BDHEA Internship program.

Two groundbreaking interactive conferences featured healthcare thought leaders, including U.S. surgeons general from three different administrations. BDHEA has garnered over 500 million media impressions and over 100,000 social media impressions with engagement rates 3x industry standards–exceptional for a new initiative.
