Christopher Hosford

Our Team

Executive Editor

Christopher Hosford is an award-winning editor, journalist and content marketing executive with a deep understanding of marketing content and martech necessities. Chris believes that great writing is simply great thinking, but with a fun overlay of insouciance. He adds (with a wink) that it doesn’t hurt to know the language inside and out.

As Purpose Brand’s executive editor, his journalistic efforts always aim for finger-on-the-pulse analyses of ever-evolving trends, combined with creative ways to reach targeted audiences with inspiring and engaging marketing content.

Chris cut his teeth on daily newspapering as a business writer and real estate editor, and later was founding staffer and executive editor with new American City Business Journals in both Miami and Pittsburgh. He served as editor-in-chief at Nielsen Media’s award-winning Sales & Marketing Management magazine in New York City, and has been featured in such venues as Inc. magazine, American Lawyer Media, Architectural Record, Ad Age, the Association of National Advertisers, Commercial Real Estate Investor, Crain’s New York Business and the National Real Estate Institute, among many.

Chris has been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists with its enterprise investigative reporting award, and was national first-place winner of the Russell L. Cecil Writing Award for excellence in medical journalism. He brings this level of journalistic excellence every single day in the advancement of superb—and effective—content for brands.

Chris spends his weekends on bicycle trails with wife Jacqueline and pup Hoover (in his bike carrier, of course). In his spare time he plays a vintage Chickering grand piano, alternating between Chopin and Ellington, with a little Bill Evans thrown in for good measure.

Passionate about

  • Family and friends, because, after all, what else is there?
  • Doing good for others. The Boy Scouts slogan is, “Do a good turn daily,” and I think it’s important to have a plan!
  • Sailing upwind at 5 knots on a breezy, sunny day.
